2026 Paid Parking Season ENDS on Wednesday, September 30

UPDATE NOTICE
As of 5:00 PM on Wednesday September 30, the 2026 Paid Parking Season will officially END.
As a reminder, Paid Parking is enforced from April 1 - September 30 between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily. Please note that individually marked Resident Only parking spaces can still be monitored, with citations issued at any time.
Following the season end, a full report will be presented to the Town Council at an upcoming regular Council Meeting later in the year, where a breakdown of traffic, usage, revenues, and suggested improvements for next year will be discussed.

The 2026 Paid Parking Season starts on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Ahead of this season, the Public Works Department has been hard at work to prepare and improve the public parking areas, with fresh gravel, updated landscaping, and the addition of a 120 NEWparking spaces!
While spaces have been added in the public Right-Of-Way (ROW) areas and Beach Access Locations throughout the entire Island, these additions dramatically improved parking at the end of W Beach Drive (The Point) where it more than doubled the amount of available spaces. This effort achieves the directives and goals set out by the Town Council of expanding available parking spaces, as well as adding to the number of Resident Parking Spaces. The work, materials, and signage are possible thanks to the increased revenue from the 2025 Season of the Paid Parking program.
The Town of Oak Island now currently provides nearly 1,500 parking spaces across 65 Beach Access Locations ... more than any other island community in the Carolinas!
For those new to Town or the Paid Parking Program, it is administered by the contracted vendor, Otto Connect through their proprietary SurfCAST application. Program enforcement runs from April 1 - September 30 between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily, with Resident-Only Parking spaces actively enforced from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM daily.
