What's Found Wednesday Graphic

"Have you seen my ...?"

"Did anyone turn in my ...?"

"Can you help me find my lost ...?"

These are all questions the Oak Island Police Department regularly receives, as Oak Island can be a busy place, and that leads to lost or misplaced items.

That's why the Department has launched the NEW series, What's Found Wednesdays which invites the public to help solve these mysteries, and reunite lost items with their owners.

HOW IT WORKS

While exact descriptions of items cannot be given out online, in order to prevent fraudulent ownership claims, each Wednesday a series of "clues" will be posted on the OKInformation page of the Town Website and the Town Facebook page.

If the clues match the description of known lost or misplaced items, readers can contact the Police Department to describe the item and claim ownership. Readers can help share this information on their own personal social media or interest groups, and work together as a community to help return these lost items; many of which may hold great sentimental value for their owners.
