On Saturday, April 25, The Town of Oak Island will host a Living Shorelines Workshop with special guest, Troy Alphin as part of the CoastWise Initiative, the Town's collaborative partnership with UNCW

The Workshop will provide an overview of local long-term studies and work being proposed for Oak Island, as well as how volunteers can get involved, and answers to questions such as:  

• What is a Living Shorelines?
• What are Ecosystem Services?
• What tools are available to help residents understand sustainable approaches to protection of waterways?
