The Town of Oak Island is excited to announce Dr. Mouhcine Guettabi as the first Guest Presenter in the CoastWise Speakers Series, scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Town Council Chambers, located on the second floor of Town Hall at 4601 E Oak Island Drive.
Dr. Guettabi is the Ronald & Cynthia McNeill Distinguished Professor in Business, Associate Professor of Economics, and Regional Economist at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He monitors the area’s economic indicators and produces economic impact analyses and forecasts.
The April 9 presentation from Dr. Guettabi will focus on Economic Perspectives, and is the first in the Coastwise Speakers Series, which is anticipated to be expanded into multiple, regularly scheduled events throughout the partnership’s three-year span.
