Sgt. Brad Stevens Presents Fraud & Scam awareness tips to seniors at the Community Center

On Monday, February 23, 2026, Sgt. Brad Stevens (pictured) and Community Resource Officer Joe Trahey gave the Oak Island Police Department's annual presentation on Fraud & Scam Prevention to area seniors at the Oak Island Community Center, located beside Town Hall at 102 SE 417th St.

Scams and fraud schemes of all types are an ever-growing problem, particularly among seniors. That's why these presentations are so important, as they help our local residents learn how to RECOGNIZE and RESPOND to attempts to steal what they've worked their whole lives to build.

This presentation is offered annually at the Community Center, as well as to other businesses, civic groups, churches, and community organizations.
